WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO) –Its may not change many minds, but a new study that claims Michigan has some of the worst roads in the country, has been released by TRIP, a national transportation research group that is at least partially funded by the construction industry.
Just two weeks before the state goes to the polls to decide a 1.2-billion dollar roads package, the group says if we don’t spend more money to fix the roads now, then its going to cost the state more to fix them later, and in the meantime, it will dissuade businesses from locating in the state, curbing development, growth and new jobs.
The organization says it doesn’t endorse funding measures but calls the May 5th package a good start.
