LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state Board of Canvassers today approved language for a ballot initiative petition that wants a ban on hydraulic fracturing in Michigan put before voters on the 2016 ballot. The Committee to Ban Fracking in Michigan is behind this effort, citing damage done in other states for seeking its prohibition here, but this group had failed to gather enough petition signatures for a vote last year. A state Chamber of Commerce objection to this petition title request was denied by the board.
