ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – A 22-year-old Allegan man was bound over for trial on murder and child abuse charges. Jonathan Colby waived a preliminary hearing in Allegan District Court as a psychiatric examination found him competent to stand trial. Colby is accused of striking and choking his three-month-old son Jase inside of a Starlite Drive mobile home unit last December 3rd; the child succumbed to his injuries at Allegan General Hospital. Colby allegedly admitted to investigators assaulting the infant.
