LANSING, MI (WHTC) – When Michigan state lawmakers return to Lansing tomorrow, one of the issues that will be before the House Judiciary Committee will be a package of bills regulating body cameras on law enforcement officers in Michigan. Many activists are campaigning for mandatory use of such surveillance after high-profile police abuse incidents in Ferguson and New York, but this legislation would only establish guidelines for its use and for image storage purposes.
Police departments have mixed feelings on the matter.
