Pro-Electric Choice Group Publishes Supportive Poll Results

LANSING, MI (WHTC) – As the House Energy Policy Committee holds hearings over reestablishing regulated monopolies for power utilities, Electric Choice Now says that a poll, conducted for them by EPIC-MRA, showed 74 percent of 600 Michigan voters oppose eliminating electrical competition. Legislation was introduced in the Lower Chamber at the behest of Consumers Energy and DTE Energy, as these utilities claim they can’t meet tougher federal standards and replace aging plants in a competitive environment.
