ALLEGAN (WKZO) — Malcomb Dotson has been formally charged with open-murder and a gun felony following the shooting death of his half-brother on Friday.
Court documents suggest that the 25-year-old Dotson was angry with 37-year-old Damon Francis Sheldon because he was being forced to stay in the house on the property which was trashed and had no electricity.
He wanted to stay in the mobile home. Friday he walked over to the place where Sheldon was staying, and shot him in the head with a rifle. He then buried him in the backyard.
He also buried some stolen items from an unrelated burglary. He was also charged with that burglary Monday.
Bond was denied.
Family members say there is a lot more to this story. They say Sheldon sexually abused Dotson when his younger half-brother was a child and spent time in prison for it.
Sheldon was in the sex-offender registry when he was killed on Friday.
