LANSING (WKZO) — Hot on the heels of a report out of Pennsylvania that Radon readings have increased significantly in areas that are near fracking opertions, a group in Michigan want voters to ban Fracking.
Petition language will be on the Michigan State Board of Canvasser’s agenda on Tuesday for review to determine if it’s clear and explains the issue.
It would ban the technique that uses high pressure liquids to bust up underground deposits, releasing gas and oil, and apparently radon gas as well.
Radon is believed to be the number two cause of lung cancer behind smoking.
