ALLEGANCOUNTY (WKZO) Allegan County Deputies have released the name of the victim in a suspected murder in Trowbridge Township near Allegan. They say they pulled the body of 37-year-old Damon Francis Sheldon from a shallow grave behind a home on 26th Street near M-89.
Deputies were called to the compound by the victim’s mother Friday afternoon. She was looking for the victim in a mobile home on the property and found signs of a struggle, including blood.
A 25-year-old was found sleeping in a house on the property and taken in for questioning.
Capt. Mike Larsen says they found disturbed dirt in the back yard and began digging, finding the body of the 37-year old missing man.
They say the younger man was “involved with the death of the victim and is currently lodged at the Allegan County Jail”. He is reportedly the victim’s step-brother. The investigation is ongoing.
