MIDLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Mackinac Center for Public Policy says a recent phone poll of four thousand likely voters in the May 5th statewide election showed that 79 percent of respondents knew already how they would vote on Proposal 1. Practical Political Consulting, who conducted the survey for the Midland-based conservative think tank, estimates that about 1.8 million will cast ballots, which would be more than normal for a nontraditional election date. Many polls have predicted defeat for Proposal 1.
