KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — The Kalamazoo City Manager is looking for a citizen’s panel willing to take a cold hard look at how the city earns and spends its money to see if they can find a way to generate more of it.
Manager Jim Ritsema says that between state funding, property taxes and user fees, the city’s finances are not sustainable.
The group will be asked to come up with recommendations for the staff and commission to consider, as part of a larger public input effort as they prepare next year’s budget.
Anyone who would like to apply for a spot on the panel can contact the City Manager’s office.
