HASTINGS (WKZO) — A Middleville man who caused an accident that killed another man and nearly killed him, will serve at least 7-years in prison.
Matthew Nosanov was 19, drunk and fleeing from police at about 90-MPH when he smashed into a car driven by Geovanni Ramirez, killing him last June. Ramirez was 24.
Yesterday Nosanov was sentenced to 7 to 15-years in prison and ordered to pay $12,600 in restitution to the family of his victim for funeral expenses.
Nosanov pled no contest to driving drunk causing death and fleeing and eluding causing death. The no-contest plea had no impact on sentencing in the criminal court, but could help him if the Ramirez family files a civil suit seeking additional damages.
