KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — A high-speed police chase Sunday night ended in downtown Kalamazoo with a vehicle crashed into a building and the driver involved still at large and possibly injured.
A Kalamazoo Township officer attempted to pull over a westbound vehicle on Gull Road around 12:30 AM for going 68 in a 40 mile-per-hour zone.
The suspect sped off at a rate of over 100 miles per hour, and officers halted their pursuit.
The suspect got as far as McKenzie’s bakery and lost control, hitting a bakery delivery van and then slamming into the JT Classic Car Company building.
He fled on foot. K-9’s lost the scent. Police believe that he may be injured, based on what they found in the vehicle.
