MARSHALL (WKZO) — The search is on for a man who allegedly tied up a 63-year-old Marshall man in his home and forced his 64-year-old wife to fetch valuables, at gunpoint, or at least that’s how it initially appeared.
The robbery fell apart when the victim noticed that the pistol the thief was wielding was just a BB-gun.
The incident began around 9:30 Sunday night at a residence off of Verona Road and Fountain Street.
The masked suspect in a blue hoodie knocked on the door and then forced his way in, flashing the gun.
He tied up the man who then noticed it wasn’t a real gun. The victim was assaulted by the suspect when he confronted the young male in his 20’s about it being just a BB-gun.
The suspect then fled with some cash but nothing more.
