Blue Water Bridge Renovation Begins

PORT HURON, MI (WHTC) – Construction crews have narrowed the Blue Water Bridge that connects I-69 from Port Huron with the Kings Highway 402 in Sarnia, Ontario. One-lane traffic in each direction will be in place through early July as the twin span is rebuilt; the original bridge that now carries westbound traffic is 76 years old, while the eastbound is only 17. With an average of 14 thousand vehicles, the Blue Water Bridge ranks only behind Detroit’s Ambassador Bridge in daily traffic volume between the US and Canada.
