State House Passes Vehicle Electronic Proof of Insurance Bill

LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state Senate now gets its hands on a bill approved by the House that would allow motorists to provide proof of insurance electronically during traffic stops. Sponsor Eric Nesbitt of Lawton says that this would put Michigan in line with all of the rest of the Midwest states and more than half of the country that permit this convenience. Some insurance carriers are already publicizing such electronic accessibility of proof in their national television ads. The measure cleared the House easily.
