WEST MICHIGAN (WKZO) – The Midwest region continues to be out of sync with the rest of the U.S. when it comes to gas prices.
Last week our prices were falling while the nation’s were rising. This week it’s the opposite. Our prices spiked to well over 2.50 a gallon at many stations. Trilby Lundberg says prices nationwide are on the decline.
Gasbuddy.com analyst Patrick Dehaan says west Michigan has its own issues, separate from the rest of the nation.
If we are following the national trend then maybe prices in west Michigan are headed downward too.The Average price in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek is a nickel above both the State and National Average, at $2.55/gallon.
The Average in Holland is close to a dime above the state and federal average at 2.59/gallon.
The average in Lansing is about 7-cents above the state and national figures.
The average in the Twin Cities is close to the state and national figures at around 2.50 a gallon.
