PORTAGE (WKZO) — Firefighters in Portage responded to a 9-1-1 call Friday evening from a homeowner in the 59-hundred block of Meredith that her SUV was on fire.
The intensity of the flames melted the siding and caused some damage to the exterior of the home before firefighters were able to hose it down.
There were no injuries.
The home is repairable but the SUV is a total loss.
Fire fighters say it appeared to have started in the engine compartment.
