LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state House has passed a package of bills that would allow faith-based adoption agencies to refuse to place children in same-sex partner homes if it violates their religious beliefs. Supporters say that this would enable such agencies to remain open, while opponents claim that this would be a “license to discriminate.” The measure that affects about a tenth of the 105 adoption agencies in Michigan now goes to the Senate for consideration.
