KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — The “#1 Tax Lady of Kalamazoo” may be assigned another number as a federal inmate for allegedly falsifying over 480-tax returns and claiming over 2-million in refunds that her clients did not earn over the last three tax seasons.
39-year-old Fontrice Charles has been charged with 27-felony fraud counts.
Two of the counts involve false returns filed in her own name, one of which allegedly claims a dead relative as a dependent.
Charles was formally charged in Grand Rapids on Monday.
