KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo City Commissioners are expected to endorse not one, but twotransportation tax proposals appearing on ballots this spring and summer at their regular monday night meeting.
Last week they held a work session to hear about the State’s proposedroad-funding measure on the May ballot. Vice Mayor Dave Anderson says it’s not the perfect solution, but it’s better than any we are likely to see.
He says it took the legislature three years to agree to this one and they don’t have a “plan b”.
Commissioners are also expected to endorse passage of the millage to create the Metro Transit Authority, which will be on the August ballot. The Authority is planning to expand the service if the money becomes available.
That may depend in part on the May ballot passing. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
