LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Michigan Governor Rick Snyder says the state has to take aggressive steps and set clear energy goals to reduce the chance of dramatic rate spikes and widespread outages. The governor laid out a plan today to utilize more renewable energy and eliminate waste.
Right now Michiganders use 38% more energy than the national average and pay on average 6% higher rates on heat and electric bills. According to the governor, a key challenge is to eliminate energy waste and meet an additional 15% of our energy needs with renewables by 2025.
