LANSING, MI (WHTC) – After two days of interviews, the state Board of Education has narrowed to three the list of finalists for the state Superintendent post that Mike Flanagan is retiring from at the end of this academic year. Not surprisingly, three southeast Michigan figures emerged in Oakland County’s Vickie Markavitch, Washtenaw County’s Scott Menzel and Dearborn’s Brian Whitson. They will go again before the board for another round of public interviews next Wednesday that will be also be streamed online.
