LANSING (WKZO) — The first TV ad to run in support of Proposition 1, the road funding measure that will be on the ballot in May will hit the airwaves on Monday.
It appears the proponents of the ballot measure are by far the best funded but the polls also show that they have a lot of work to do if they are going to convince the public to pass the complicated measure.
Part of that will include a “ground game”, getting the organizations that do support the measure to endorse it publicly.
The Michigan Municipal League will be sending representatives to Kalamazoo on Monday for a special work session with the City Commission.
The City has been doing some rough estimating and they figure that a “yes” vote will bring in an additional $700-thousand in revenue sharing and $1.5-million for road funding.
The opposition ran TV spots on a few limited cable channels for a short time last month
The City Hall work session gets underway at 6 p.m.
