WASHINGTON (WHTC) – Former Michigan Secretary of State Candice Miller announced that she would not seek reelection next year to an eighth two-year term in the US House. The suburban Detroit Republican, currently the only female committee chair in the Lower Chamber as head of House Administration, didn’t give any specific reason for leaving Washington, only that she was “freely passing the baton.” Miller went to Washington in 2002 after being term-limited as Michigan’s first woman Secretary of State.
