COVERT (WKZO) — The Nuclear Regulatory commission has found the Palisades plant in violation of safety regulations for failing to “accurately calculate radiation doses to workers during an activity last year”.
The NRC calls it low impact, saying the doses the workers received were below their annual radiation limit and not expected to have any impact on their health.
Dosimeters were placed incorrectly on the torsos of workers replacing control rod drive housings last year.
That means they didn’t get the proper exposures or produce the proper readings.
There isn’t any fine but the NRC will step up their scrutiny of regular operations at the plant.
