ALLEGAN (WKZO)– Lab tests indicate a 15-month-old Allegan County child does not have the measles afterall.
It’s not a big surprise but it appears that Allegan county child who was isolated with a suspected case of Measles, actually had a bad rash and some other virus that was causing symptoms.
Two of the three test results conducted have shown no traces of the highly contagious measles virus.
That confirms their suspicions that some key symptoms were not present in the 15-month old girl.
There is one more test they are waiting for to definitively rule out the Measles.
Health officials got a similar result from tests on a toddler with symptoms in Kent County.
