KALAMAZOO/BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) — The City of Kalamazoo was the first to start asking homeowners to run a trickle of water if they noticed a decline in their water pressure, or had frozen pipes last year.
Right now the Public Works Department in Kalamazoo has a of 63 homes with frozen pipes. They have also had to fix over 100 broken water mains.
Just like last year, when the temperatures dipped below normal, the frost has reached deep into the ground, particularly under streets.
This past weekend the City of Athens made the same request and now the city of Battle Creek has identified a number of streets where freezing may be problem.
