Sturgis fire officials are looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed a home on Maple Street on Friday.
By the time fire crews rolled up to the home, the occupants had all escaped the flames and smoke was pouring from the roof vents at the rear of the home.
They quickly determined that the flames appeared to be confined to the attic, and attacked it with circular saws, axes and hoses through the roof, and from below.
The home suffered extensive water, fire and power tool damage and they suspect it has been totaled.
