LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The state Senate today concurred with two House bills and established March 8th as a 2016 Presidential Primary date in Michigan. The Upper Chamber last week endorsed March 15th, but the Lower Chamber wanted the vote a week earlier in order to not conflict with review board work by township clerks statewide.
Governor Rick Snyder still must sign off on the legislation. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats are bound to this, as those parties may opt instead for caucuses to select delegates.
