KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — The City of Kalamazoo wants your opinion on how the city has been spending its money and where cuts should be made, because cuts are coming.
They are planning a multi-faceted effort that will include hearings, meetings, polling, and a number of other public engagement strategies including social media to obtain as much public input as they can.
They have just launched a website called Imaginekalamazoo.com.
Planning Director Laura Lam says it offers one way of letting City Hall knows how its citizens feel.
The culmination of the effort this year will be the draft of next year’s City budget and what programs get funded, and which get cuts.
The website and all the other communications techniques will remain to provide a bridge between city officials and taxpayers.
