KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — Fire investigators are expected to take a closer look at a home In Kalamazoo Township today where an elderly woman died in a house fire Thursday.
Neighbors in the 500 block of Gayle Street on the east side of Metro Kalamazoo reported smoke coming from the home.
Fire crews initiated a rescue search when they first arrived and found a woman in her 70’s, and pulled her out.
She was unresponsive and could not be revived.
They believe the fire began in the living room. That’s where the woman’s body was discovered.
They are calling it suspicious until they have sufficient evidence or information to determine otherwise..
