KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — A picturesque but aging wooden bridge in the Westnedge Hill neiborhood has prompted Kalamazoo officials to close Bronson Boulevard and the Inkster Avenue overpass until the bridge can be inspected.
The winter has apparently taken a toll on some of the wooden construction.
Crews clearing snow encountered some damage and the city has decided to close the bridge, bring out an inspector to determine what to do with the structure as quickly as possible to make sure it safe for both the drivers going over the bridge and driving under it.
. In the meantime, the closures will remain in effect with detours posted.
