LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Governor Snyder is getting ready to present his proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The Governor was discharged from the hospital this morning after spending the weekend getting treatment for a blood clot that developed in his leg. Snyder had been in St. Joseph Mercy hospital near Ann Arbor since this past Thursday.
With a projected general fund shortfall of $325 million this fiscal year and $532 million for the next, on Wednesday the Governor is expected to talk about cutting state programs and jobs. He’s also expected to propose increased funding for early education programs and support high school and community college programs that help train skilled trade workers, as well as asking for an increase in funding for universities.
