DETROIT (WKZO) — A Detroit man who made headlines because of his 21-mile daily trek is looking at a brand new form of transportation. Because there aren’t enough bus connections and he couldn’t afford a car, for the past decade James Robertson has spent hours each day walking a total of 21-miles so he could make it to work and back.
Thanks to a fundraising effort launched by a Wayne State student, Robertson has 300-thousand dollars and is getting a fully loaded 2015 Ford Taurus. Additionally, he’ll be featured along with WSU student Evan Leedy on “World News Tonight” as Robertson has been named ABC’s Person of the Week.
