UNDATED (WHTC)- Kalamazoo area’s first responders were honored last night. Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley as well as several Michigan state senators and representatives were all on hand in Kalamazoo’s Valley Grove Center yesterday to honor the responders to the I-94 crash near Battle Creek, back in mid-January.
EMT’s, nurses, firefighters, paramedics and police officers who responded to the multi-car pile up on January 9th were honored during the ceremony for their actions. Many emergency personnel attending the event stated the accident scene was unlike anything they had ever experienced. The 190 vehicle pileup remains one of the largest accidents in Michigan history.
