DETROIT (WKZO) — With nearly 250-thousand dollars in his bank account a Detroit man who walks 21-miles a day says he won’t let the money go to his head.
Fifty-six-year-old James Robertson is making headlines because, due the lack of mass transit connections, he walks a large portion of the way to and from his work in Rochester Hills. Wayne State student Evan Leedy started a Go Fund Me page to raise money to help Robertson buy a car and insurance. The fund has 243-thousand so far.
In the Detroit Free Press Robertson says he’s got to be careful about how he handles his new found fame and wealth because, he says, “The same God who brings you all these blessings can take them away, but hopefully I’m ready for what happens.”
