WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO) — The Detroit News reports that there isn’t a lot of new spending for Michigan in the President’s proposed budget.
In fact some programs have been cut and for the second year in a row, there is no money for a new customs plaza for the proposed second Detroit River Bridge.
Even Senator Gary Peters says he is disappointed in the budget/’s failure to allocate the 300-million needed for the bridge project.
The proposed budget cuts funding for Great Lakes restoration and the A-10 Warthog. It increases funding on the National Highway Safety Administration, which regulates the automakers. The Obama Budget is expected to be shredded by the Republican Majority in Congress anyway.
