Life will be getting closer to normal today as a few schools have reopened and others remain closed. City Halls will reopen and most roads have been plowed.
The Kalamazoo County Road Commission plow truck drivers are working 12-hour shifts and have been focusing on secondary roads for the past 12 hours. They hope to have cul-de-sacs plowed out by the end of Tuesday morning.
WMU says that a scheduled appearance by Anita Hill to launch a new lecture series had to be scrubbed because Ms. Hill is trapped on the East Coast and unable to get a flight out. She gained fame when she accused Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment. She will reschedule for later this spring.
The City of Battle Creek which got over 18-inches, will reopen today and buses in the Cereal City will resume operations after they stayed in the garage yesterday. The snow emergency still remains and may be enforced if you park your car on a city street. It could mean a ticket or towing.
