DETROIT (WKZO) — The General Motors Ignition Compensation fund has received over 41-hundred claims. According to GM officials, as of January 31st, there were 4,180 claims made.
The number of settlements for deaths also rose, by one, to 51. Officials in charge of the fund say they still have at least eleven-hundred claims under review and another 15-hundred submitted with no documentation.
GM created the fund in August to compensate for people killed or injured in crashes equipped with defective ignition switches.
