DETROIT (WKZO) — The GoFundMe page bringing in donations to help a Detroit man buy a car and stop walking his 21-mile commute to work every day has far exceeded expectations.
The story of James Robertson was told by the “Detroit Free Press” over the weekend, and was picked up Monday by the likes of “Good Morning America.” By Monday evening, donations had surged past 129-thousand dollars.
Robertson has been walking to work for a decade since his Honda broke down and he didn’t make enough money to repair or replace it.
