KALAMAZOO (WKZO) – Three Kalamazoo men are being held on drug and gun charges after they got caught smoking grass in a driveway on the city’s east side.
Public Safety Officers were checking out a routine tip about a suspicious car in the 12-hundred block of East Michigan Avenue Saturday afternoon, at about 3:30 p.m.
The occupants abandoned the car as soon as they saw the officers coming. Unfortunately for them it also released the strong smell of Marijuana.
The officers also spotted grass in the vehicle.
A search of the car resulted in the seizure of the marijuana and the discovery of two loaded handguns, a .357 Magnum and a 9mm semi-automatic.
Three men in their 20’s were arrested and lodged in the County Jail.
Two of them are expected to be formally charged with carrying a concealed weapon and the third with marijuana possession on Monday.
