WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKZO) — Despite the economy improving, one out of every five American children still rely on food stamps.
According to the U.S. Census, the U.S. has the highest rate of child poverty in the industrialized world. Experts say the figure shows that the improving economy is failing to reach families on the lower end of the economic spectrum.
Nearly 15-million U.S. children live below the poverty level, which is 24-thousand dollars for a family of four.
