UNDATED (WHTC)-With tax season around the corner and the infusion of the Affordable Care Act providing increased complications for tax filing, the IRS recently reported fewer tax agents for audits and tax help due to federal budget cuts. This is the first year taxpayers will have to provide information about their health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
For some it is a simple check of a box on the tax form for those who receive their coverage through work or government programs, like Medicaid. Those who receive government subsidies as well as state and federal employees are required to provide additional paperwork. The IRS encourages everyone to file electronically, with most getting their tax refund within 3 weeks.
