LANSING (WKZO) – A bill proposed by State Rep. John Bizon of Battle Creek would extend a law that allows retired teachers to return to work when the State Superintendent of Schools determines there are critical shortages.
Michigan has an abundance of certain types of teachers and shortages in other specialties like speech pathology and special education.
The Act allowing them to return to work sunset in 2012.
