NEW BUFFALO (WKZO) — The woman found dead near railroad tracks in New Buffalo Township just a few miles north of the Indiana border on Sunday has been identified as 42-year-old Elizabeth Brooks of Chicago. Michigan State Police released her identity Tuesday afternoon as they await toxicology test results from Monday’s autopsy.
Brooks was identified through fingerprint records collected when she was arrested in Chicago. That city’s police department is now working with authorities in Michigan in the investigation of her death.
