BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) — Have you seen that video of a pilot having fuel problems out over the Pacific and the entire plane parachuting into the surf?
The Pilot was flying the Cirrus SR-22, which comes equipped with the chute as a safety device.
He was able to contact the Coast Guard and arrange to ditch the plane in the water near a cruise ship, which sent out a life boat to rescue him.
The WMU School of Aviation has 26 of the parachute equipped Cirrus SR-20’s in its fleet at Kellogg Field.
