KENT COUNTY (WKZO) — The bungling burglars who tried to rob Medawar’s Jewelers last week apparently spent a week planning the robbery, but didn’t do a very good job researching their target.
If they had done their homework they would have known that the last crew to try and rip off the Rolex Watches at that Jewelry Store wound up in jail after one of them was shot by a store owner.
They would have seen that the expensive watches are kept behind bullet and hammer proof glass.
Police say Zakary Cender, Darnell Brown and Charles Fortune, were forced to flee after their hammers proved to be useless and the owner fired a bullet in their direction.
Monday they were charged with conspiracy to commit retail fraud in the first degree and ordered held on 100-thousand dollars bond.
Two other suspects remain at large.
