DETROIT (WKZO) — The head of Cadillac believes there are too many dealers selling vehicles. Johan De Nysshen told the “Detroit News” he has no plans to cut the number of dealerships, but may encourage smaller dealers to create a “boutique” store selling just a few vehicles.
There are 928 Cadillac dealers nationwide but luxury competitors Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Lexus all have a smaller dealer network. Each of those brands sold more cars than Cadillac last year and De Nysshen says he will talk about his idea at the National Automobile Dealers Association conference this weekend.
