KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo County Commissioners have set a timetable for picking a new County Administrator, but that could be tossed aside if the majority rejects hiring an executive headhunting firm to do the search.
If all goes as scheduled, the search would be completed by June.
They reviewed seven proposals from search firms Tuesday and will interview the finalists at their next meeting.
Last night a proposal to also have their own Human Resources Department submit a bid was approved, over the objections of some who feel it’s inappropriate for H.R. to be helping to run the search for their own boss.
That will also be considered at their February 3rd meeting. Several commissioners were not impressed with the headhunting firms that applied.
