LOWELL (WKZO) — The crash of a single engine plane by a student pilot in Lowell on Monday is being reviewed by his instructor. Jeff Ostrander recorded the crash using his cell phone, and notes the 40-year-old student had landed perfectly one time a few minutes before the crash.
Ostrander says the plane was coming in too fast before the crash, and while the student did the right thing by pulling up to try again, he climbed too steeply. That maneuver caused the aircraft to stall and crash near a home just west of the runway.
